Week 3: Market Research- Industry analysis, customer analysis, competitive analysis, review of laws & regulations
Sponsored by SCORE Chapel Hill and the Chamber, this course is for entrepreneurs looking to start a business, or small business owners wanting to create a more complete business plan to effectively manage and operate their organization.
Taught in 9 sessions between Feb. 3-Apr. 27, participants will be partnered with a SCORE mentor as they develop their plan.
Carl Baumann, Instructor
Carl Baumann retired in 2005 after 34 years in business. He spent 6 ½ years in commercial banking with First Citizens Bank and 27 ½ years with the Miller Brewing Company in numerous financial positions including Brewery Controller, Corporate Controller and Group Director – Sales & Marketing Finance.
Carl is a volunteer with SCORE and specializes in counseling in business planning, strategic planning, general management and management finance & accounting. In the last 4 years, Carl has mentored 37 clients who have launched businesses creating over 151 new jobs. Carl teaches business planning courses and seminars for SCORE at the Durham Tech, Central Carolina Community College and Wake Tech Small Business Centers. Carl received a BS in Business Administration from UNC Chapel Hill and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, CA.
