It’s been more than three decades since Greg Hawks picked up his first instrument, kicking off a career that has found the critically-acclaimed songwriter, front man, and multi-instrumentalist leaving his mark on everything from alt-country to bluegrass music. On his new album, the Chris Stamey-mixed I Think It’s Time, Hawks draws inspiration from classic country, 1970’s pop-rock, rhythmic Stax records soul, and his own roots in the American South. Hawks makes a much-anticipated return to The ArtsCenter to celebrate this new release and showcase his versatility as an enduring, eclectic musician who has been making Americana music since long before the genre had a name.
