Description
Volunteers: Recruit, Train and Retain!
Balancing limited staffing budgets with endless lists of goals, deadlines, and special projects, is a common challenge for non-profit organizations. It is no secret that volunteers are an excellent way bridge the gap in staffing needs. As the old saying goes, “Volunteers are not paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.” In fact, volunteers can be essential to helping your organization reach its strategic goals and priorities. But how do you find dependable volunteers who support your mission? And, more importantly, how do you retain them?
Join us for an open discussion on how to recruit, train, and retain volunteers. We’ll also address best practices for volunteer management and how to develop a formalized volunteer program for your organization.
Jennifer Bowman is the Special Events Coordinator at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. In addition to managing all fundraising events for the cancer center, Jennifer oversees the volunteer program at UNC Lineberger.
