Description
The art and science of donor cultivation
Building relationships with donors and prospects is one of the most important things that nonprofits can do to ensure fundraising success. Part art and part science, great donor cultivation relies on consistent activity, personalized communications, and an excellent strategy. Come to the July 13th session and we will share tips and insights to improve your donor cultivation practice.
Speaker: Janet Colm
Janet was the founder and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina (PPCNC), a women's health organization that served 10,000 clients a year with an annual budget of $5 million. For over 30 years, she worked closely with the board to develop policy and strategic plans, and she was also responsible for financial oversight, fundraising, advocacy and legislative work. In her final year at PPCNC, she led the organization in a merger that resulted in a new Planned Parenthood affiliate, Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, which provides services in four states.
Janet currently serves on the board for Democracy North Carolina. She has also served on the board for ESC, the community advisory board for WUNC public radio and the steering committee for the Forward Together/Moral Movement in North Carolina. She was one of 1,000 people arrested for civil disobedience as part of the Moral Monday Movement in 2013. Also in 2013, the mayor of Chapel Hill declared "Janet Colm Day" in honor of her outstanding community and professional work.
Janet has a B.A. in anthropology from Duke University and an M.S. in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
