Description
Creating a Board Dashboard
A dashboard offers a board of directors visibility and insight into a nonprofit’s progress in fulfilling its mission, program and operational goals. In this session we will show you an example of how the Nature Conversancy built a dashboard. They used their concrete measures of success as an important marketing tool for attracting donors and building public support.
Speaker: Rosalie Phelan
Rosalie comes to ESC with diverse experience leading business process transformation projects that deliver dramatic process improvements in the insurance, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and engineered product industries. At Covance Inc., she led a global, cross-functional team to design and implement a regulatory compliant, electronic filing system that resulted in annual productivity improvements estimated at $2 million. In May 2017, Rosalie retired as the senior business process consultant for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, where she led teams to redesign healthcare operations processes that resulted in an estimated $8 million in productivity improvements.
Rosalie also spent nine years as a project manager at Rise, a nonprofit community action service center in central New Jersey. After returning to the for-profit world, she became a board member and was then elected president of the organization.
Rosalie has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. In addition, she holds a GE Six Sigma Quality Master Black Belt certification and has completed numerous professional leadership development courses. She has designed and delivered Six Sigma training and has mentored numerous Lean Practitioners, Green Belts and Black Belts to achieve their certifications.
