Description
This month YPN is proud to present Writing for Advocacy, a workshop with Margot Lester of The Word Factory to be held at 3 Birds Marketing in Chapel Hill.
Advocacy is a key responsibility all of us bear. We owe it to our work, our community and ourselves to advocate effectively for the things we care most about. Opinion and persuasive writing is a key tool in changing behaviors and mindsets, gaining influence, educating others and building support. And it’s especially important to have your voice heard the public policy realm. In this workshop, we learn a writing strategy to create persuasive and opinion content quickly and effectively with sensitivity to your audience and the right details to drive results. You’ll sketch out a position on a topic of your choice, so start thinking about something you want to advocate for or against.
The Young Professionals Network is a platform to sharpen your business acumen, explore our community, and strengthen your relationships with peers.
If you're not a member of the Chamber's Young Professionals Network, this event is $10 to attend. Registration is required. To register, click the 'register' button above or e-mail Chela Tu at ctu@carolinachamber.org.
